The Project

Children attending the school come from as far afield as Delft and Langa. Some are collected in a kombi owned by the organization.

The new building will provide the following:

• A Safe building suitable for the education and care of the children.
• Separating children into different age and capability categories.
• Erecting a suitable playground will assist with "fine motor and gross motor" skills development.
• A fully equipped kitchen will facilitate with the cooking of nutritious meals.
• Bathroom facilities and sick room facilities suitable for children.

The building project is being managed by architects and quantity surveyors who have undertaken successful similar projects in the past on the Cape Flats. The local community is being employed on the building site thereby encouraging skills development and community ownership.
